INTRODUCTION

In the constant battle against the spread of infectious diseases like corona virus, scientists and researchers are continually on the hunt for new weapons that specifically target pathogenic microbes. With the spread of covid-19 virus globally, there is the continuous demand from the market for better and safer solution.

My product can help mankind in this pandemic and provide higher safety.

It can solve major problems like:

· High burden of the functioning of the existing medical system

· Patients with other disease and health problems are getting neglected

· Overload on doctors and other healthcare professionals, who are at a very high risk

· Requirement for high protection

Hence providing a better and healthier solution is the demand of today’s world.

Idea

Bio-protect is the start-up idea which can helps us to disinfect our surroundings and thus provide us sterilized and safe environment with the help of UV rays which are human friendly that is they will not harm the humans.

We will use this idea of disinfecting using electromagnetic rays in following manner:

For wider range: we can install UV lamps in spaces like office, hospitals, gyms and other public places which will neutralize the area without harming and disturbing others.

For shorter range: We will develop a WRIST WATCH, from which a beam of light will emerge out and will kill all the bacteria and viruses in that respective region. ALSO, this watch will provide all the health-related information like Body temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure reading etc.

Are UV rays harmful???

UV light is a human health hazard and can lead to many health-related problems, which prevents it’s use in public spaces. Exposure to UV rays is linked to a number of harmful health conditions, including the following:

A) Skin cancer: Most skin cancers are a result of exposure to the UV rays in sunlight.

B) Photoaging: Sun (UV RAYS) exposure also causes premature aging of the skin, a condition called photoaging which is different than chronological aging.

For example, People who sunbathe regularly show photoaging early in life — often before 30 years of age whereas Chronologically-aged skin, more often, shows changes after age 40 or older

C) Cataracts and other eye disorders: Cataracts, an eye disorder characterized by a change in the structure of the crystalline lens that causes blurred vision, are a leading cause of blindness around the world — and excessive UV exposure is one of the risk factors in the development of cataracts. In fact, persons who spend more time in the sun may develop cataracts earlier than others.

But some UV Light are safe for Humans but Bad for Bacteria and Viruses…

Far-ultraviolet C (far-UVC) light can kill bad bacteria and viruses and placing it in spaces like hospitals, airports, and schools could reduce the incidence of infections. Far-UVC light whose wavelength ranges between 207–222 nm efficiently and safely inactivates airborne human coronaviruses.

The far-UVC light does not damage human tissues. It has been known for a while now that broad spectrum UVC light has the power to kill bacteria and viruses by breaking molecular bonds. Light on the far end of the UV-C spectrum, known as far-UVC, has very short wavelengths. The light inactivated the viruses with about the same efficiency as conventional germicidal UV light.

The researchers said that it can penetrate and destroy microscopic bacteria and viruses but cannot travel through the protective outer layers of human skin or eyes. Hence it is not harmful for humans and can be used against “novel corona virus, SARS-CoV-2”.

MARKET DEMAND

In This current scenario, this product has “blockbuster potential” which can be a game changer in the fight against novel corona virus. In fact not only against corona virus but also against many other existing and emerging viruses and bacteria’s which are harmful or dangerous to human health.

This is something our society needs so it is safe to assume that there is a huge market demand for a product like this. The corona virus outbreak is affecting millions of people globally which opens “the dollar door” for invention and ideas which are providing better and healthier solution to bring us out of the pandemic consciousness and with the product like this we simply attain leading edge over other in the market.

Governments in different countries are focusing on ensuring safety of the people and to enhance their medical facilities for treatment of Covid-19 infected patients. Rapid surge in medical expenditure and increasing awareness among consumers regarding hygiene products has provided a significant boost in the demand for clinical grade disinfectant from clinics, hospitals and other medical facility premises. This scenario is expected to foster the demand for disinfectants and the market is expected to witness a boom during the ongoing pandemic.

The global disinfectants market is projected to surpass US$ 49.0 billion by the end of 2027, in terms of revenue, growing at CAGR of 6.0% during the forecast period (2020 to 2027).

Unfortunately, since ages, conventional germicidal UV lights are used to disinfect and sterilize the surrounding but all those products are hazard to human health and therefore can’t be used in public places or any other places except medical healthcare or laboratory.

Our major advantage is that there is no product with this idea currently in the market.

This will provide us a major lead against the other players those are leading currently in the disinfectant industry. As our product can be used in varies works, this factor will help us to give rapid boost to our product and will cancel out the competition.

Target Customers:

Since awareness regarding health is increasing day-by-day everyone loves or prefer health over anything else, thus it targets each and every person regardless of age, gender, religion, caste, color or anything that distinguish between peoples.

For instances: As shown in the above picture, everyone is conscious about their sage and health and having a mask on their face which in-fact does not provide complete protection. While suffering through the internet I found quite interesting quote, through sources was unknown, “Carefulness costs you nothing. Carelessness may cost you your life” . This quote exactly depicts how important it is to be safe and protective for everyone and therefore our product is targeting all the stream of society.

Required Knowledge or Expertise:

1) Research Field

This idea is mostly related with the study of electromagnetic spectrum or EM waves. This would require keen knowledge of waves and their nature so that we can get particular wavelength of UV rays that is far ultraviolet-C.

2) Medical assistance

For our wrist watch feature which provides the user information about Heart Rate count which is based on a principle called “photplethysmography” we required correct information and sources to figure out that whether our all the functions are displaying accurate information or not ,although this phenomenon is hard to pronounce but based on very simple fact that is, Blood is red because it reflects red light and absorbs green light.

For minimizing errors, we would require medical assistance so that we don’t provide wrong information to the user who believed us in the matter related to their health.

Estimated Budget

I think the cost of this product is mainly dependent on the technology which would allow us to produce the beam of Far-UVC light from the devices so we have to be good at research work. We have to conduct many trails and experiments so that we can achieve précised wavelength of UVC lights that is between 207nm to 222 nm.

We would require a bunch of persons which are related to technical stuff so that they could write the codes for our software and develop such an interface which is user friendly and bug-free.

Product Pricing:

Product pricing is an essential element in determining the success of your product or service. Setting the right prices for your products is a balancing act. A low price isn’t always ideal, as the product might see a healthy stream of sales without turning any profit (and we all like to eat and pay our bills, right?). Similarly, when a product as a high price, a retailer may see fewer sales and “price out” more budget-conscious customers, losing market share.

There are many ways and strategies to price the product like cost-based pricing, competitive pricing etc. But all have some pros and cons attached to them. The ideal strategy is understanding the market and setting the prices according to how much will this product deliver advantages to the customer and the company both with the specific prices and also cutting the completion.

MARKETING PLAN

There are a different-ways to publicize the idea and ensure that this idea reaches the maximum people.

1) Advertisements — Advertisements help the product to reach more and more audience. I would like to publish advertisements on tech magazines, billboards and other application to bring more and more customer to our product.

2) Conferences — Tech Conferences can be one of the most successful ways to spread the idea, because it will help us to reach the idea among the tech world. Tech conferences also help us in bringing the much needed investment from some tech-giants, those are eager to shake hand with good ideas.

3) Social media — We all know that the internet is no doubt the next marketing frontier. Social media advertising campaigns bring numerous advantages to showcasing products and services.

The merit of social media advertising include the following:

a) brand recognition

b) more traffic

c) cost effective

Risk Analysis:

“Risk and great ideas always come in pair”

The biggest risk is that whether this idea can be successfully implemented or not. We have to be very accurate and précised with the wavelength of rays otherwise it would turn into a hazard to human health. Since it is related to health, we would require many approvals from the government and other institutions so that we could launch our product in the market which is also crucial and time taking process.
